Ghost Event
The Ghost Event (as it is called by the community), refers to an optional event only available in ACT 4 of In Stars and Time. It awards Memory of Ghosts and the (reloads dagger) house's haunted achievement. Seeing a single ghost also awards the Did you see that? achievement.

"Okay, so that other Sif was standing there... And we got closer. And it was strange, 'cuz he wasn't looking at us when we came to them, right? He was looking straight ahead, not moving. But as I called out to him... I could see he kinda startled, like he was surprised. And when we walked in front of them, they looked at us, and, they... [...] Like... See, usually I'd be happy to see that, but here it was just, uh... [...] First he looked surprised, and then... Then he looked at us like he was so happy to see us, like he was going to cry. Even more when they seemed to... Realize we were all here? He looked at each of us, and their smile got bigger and bigger every time. Blissful. But it wasn't... It wasn't nice or happy or anything. It was just... Sad. Why would you look at us like that...?"

Siffrin and his party keep seeing ghost-like apparitions that look exactly like him throughout the House. On the third floor, Mirabelle, Isabeau, Odile and Bonnie attempt to communicate with one of the ghosts and are left confused by its uncharacteristically emotional response. Siffrin, who cannot handle the idea of the others thinking what happened is normal, loops back to the moment before they tried to communicate with the ghost and pretends to not see it when the party mentions it.

Ghost locations
The player can start to see ghosts after passing through the hallways they appear in at least three times throughout their playthrough. When entering specific hallways for the first time in a loop, there is a random chance for a Siffrin ghost to appear briefly before vanishing. Seeing a ghost for the very first time will grant the Did you see that? achievement. Once the hallway has been explored, the ghost will not appear again until next loop.
A ghost can be found on each floor of the House:
- The first one is at the end of the western hallway on FLOOR 1, behind the door with the egg lock.
- The second one is in the middle of the eastern hallway on FLOOR 2.
- The third one is at the end of the hallway that leads to the Change God shrine on FLOOR 3, right after the bathroom.
- If the first two ghosts have been encountered, the event will automatically play once the third ghost is seen.
The chance of seeing a ghost is 1 in 15 during ACT 2, 1 in 5 during ACT 3 and 1 in 3 during ACT 4.
Due to the randomness of the event, chances of seeing all three ghosts in a row are quite low (about 1 in 27). The best way to see all three ghosts in a single loop is to save at the beginning of every floor and to load back the save if the ghost isn't in the hallway: loading back to a save that is set before the hallway was explored resets the chances to see the ghost and allows for infinite tries.

Memory of Ghosts can be equipped by Siffrin, but it has no effects.
Unlike most memories, Loop does not describe its effects, and it simply appears in the player's inventory. This trait is also shared with Memory of Touch, Memory of A Secret, Memory of Emptiness and Memory of A Journey.
Achievement
(reloads dagger) house's haunted is the achievement awarded for the event above. Internal files refer to it as "sifghost3".
It activates at the end of the cutscene with the third ghost on FLOOR 3.
Did you see that? is the achievement for seeing a ghost for the very first time. Internal files refer to it as "sifghost1".
It activates as soon as the ghost vanishes.
Trivia
- The name of the achievement, (reloads dagger) house's haunted, may be a reference to the Moon's Haunted meme, which depicts a NASA employee asking an astronaut why they are back so early from their trip to the Moon.
