ACT 1
We better get some rest while we can! We have to be ready for tomorrow... So we can finally face against the King!

ACT 1 is the first Act of In Stars and Time, covering the first walk through Dormont up to Siffrin's first death on the first floor of the House. It introduces the setting and characters, serving as the basis for all future loops.
Synopsis
The Act opens on Siffrin, the Traveler, taking a nap. In their dream, they see themself eating a star. He awakens to find Mirabelle, the Housemaiden, looming over them. Since Siffrin is still half-asleep, she leaves him to sleep just a little bit longer. When standing up, Siffrin hears a voice in his head, explaining how to move.
Upon waking up and entering Dormont, Siffrin encounters Mirabelle again. She suggests that the party hold a last sleepover before entering the House, in order to eat well and have fun. Siffrin's lacking enthusiasm for the idea upsets Mirabelle, which Siffrin chides themself for. He makes up for it by offering to tell the rest of the party about Mirabelle's plan, which she accepts. Then, Mirabelle leaves to sit by the Library.
Thus, Siffrin moves through Dormont to talk to all of his friends. This includes Odile, the Researcher, and Bonnie, the Kid. When talking to Odile, she points out that there was no need for Siffrin to ask everyone to meet at the clocktower, since the party planned to meet there later anyways. Siffrin talks to Isabeau, the Defender, last, because he went to wish on the Favor Tree. This tree is the largest in Dormont, and said to possess the power to grant small favors asked of it.
When talking to their friends, Siffrin asks each of them for their future plans after defeating the King. Mirabelle plans a pilgrimage, Odile wishes to travel more, Bonnie wants to return to their sister in Bambouche and Isabeau aims to become a clothing designer. Notably, every party member also asks Siffrin for their future plans, and Siffrin changes their response each time they are asked.
Once Isabeau leaves, Siffrin offers his own wish to the Favor Tree. He performs a short ritual, and wishes either to continue traveling with Mirabelle, wear clothes Isabeau makes, visit Odile's country with her, or be there when Bonnie reunites with their sister, all amounting to wishing to stay with their friends.
In the evening, Siffrin enters the clocktower with all their friends already waiting for them. The party eat dinner and play around for a final time. After dinner, Mirabelle asks to speak to the group. Though she was happy traveling with everybody, she recognizes that anyone may be frozen in time when fighting the king, and that any party member should have the opportunity to back down now. The entire group refutes her, however, saying that it is too late to call it quits, and that they are glad to face the final challenge with her. Bonnie, Isabeau, and Mirabelle hug as Siffrin and Odile stand a polite distance away.
As the party tries to sleep, Isabeau wakes Siffrin, saying he needs to tell them something. However, Isabeau does not say what he wants, instead putting it off until the party has defeated the King. Isabeau's whispering disturbs the rest of the group, so Mirabelle throws a pillow at him and the party finally settles down to sleep.
The next morning, the party enter the House using five Orbs they previously collected for this purpose. They explore the first few rooms of the House and fight a Sadness before entering the so-called "Death Corridor". Mirabelle panics, and explains that the Head Housemaiden frequently warned her about a trap inside the House. In order to deal with her fear, the party stops, and Siffrin searches all pillars inside the room. He finds nothing, thus declaring the hallway safe.
As they turn around to smile at the party, he is crushed to death by a giant rock falling from the ceiling.
